Volunteer

Volunteers are an essential part of a successful campaign. There are many ways that you can help. Whether you have a little time to spare once in a while or you’re able to commit to an ongoing responsibility, your time and talent can make a difference that matters!

If you have something in mind or you’d like to explore the possibilities, please send an e-mail to volunteer@kaihagen.com.

Some Volunteer Opportunities:

Here are just a few of the ways that you could help (we’ll be adding more to the list):

Put a bumper sticker on your car: Putting a sticker on your bumper may not seem like a big help, but a few hundred bumper stickers driving around the county, for months, will help convey an important message. Beyond getting Kai’s name out there, it makes it clear that you, and a lot of other people, are enthusiastically supporting his campaign.

Post a yard sign:

Yard signs are not available yet. But we will have attractive yard signs ready to distribute when the time is right. The signs will be in a few forms and sizes, including posters (for windows and interior spaces), standard yard sign sizes with “legs” (for yards and other outdoor locations), and larger 2′x4′ signs for certain high speed and/or high profile spots (these can be placed in the ground, hung on a railing or fence, stuck on a wall, and so on).

These signs are a significant way to get Kai’s name out there. Each and every one of them that is placed in a yard or on a fence or house, etc., comes with another message – a personal endorsement from a neighbor…or a number of neighbors! No matter where you live, this can help, whether it’s a small sign in an apartment window or a bigger sign on a major road.

Social Media:

We may not know exactly how much having a solid social media presence bolsters the campaign. But we do know that it is increasingly important for campaigns to be present, active and effective on social media.

And you can help there with very little time and effort…and no cost. One way is to “Like” and “Share” Kai’s candidate page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/friendsofkaihagen/ Another is to visit that page from time to time, and “Like” and “Share” the content there that resonates with you. (Because of the way Facebook works, any content will be shown to many more people if it generates activity — comments, likes and shares.)

Talk to your friends about Kai and the campaign:

Direct them to the website. Pass along a few written materials. There are few things the campaign can do that will reach voters as much as having dozens or hundreds of supporters actively engaging others about Kai, the issues and the importance of the election.

Distribute Literature:

We’ll have attractive and informative brochures, and plenty of them. You can help by distributing literature in your community (or elsewhere). At times, we will be doing this in a coordinated way and targeted way, with as many volunteers as possible distributing literature in specific communities.

Attend Local Events:

You can help build energy and momentum for the campaign by making an effort to attend a few campaign events over the next few months.

Host a Meet and Greet:

A “Meet and Greet is a great way to help the campaign accomplish a number of goals. By hosting a gathering, you help connect Kai with friends and neighbors who share our concerns. A house party can be tailored to fit your preferences and circumstances. You could host a small gathering or a large group. Its a great way to let folks know about Kai and his campaign, learn about some of their concerns and ideas, and participate in discussions about local and regional issues, all in a welcoming setting and convenient location. PLEASE NOTE: We can help you with planning the event, inviting folks, setting up, etc.
